Copenhagen, Denmark
Visited Copenhagen for work. The rest of the pictures, as usual, in Flickr.
Recommended movie: Superclásico
Caught the Danish 2012 Oscars submission on TV last night. As somebody living in that twilight zone between Nordic and Latin American culture I laughed out hard even at jokes the makers probably put there unintentionally. Hilarious movie with a big heart.
I hope I never have to argue in Danish, it sounds really funny. 😉
Continuing with the story
The WHO has raised its alert status to level 4. There have been over 2,300 cases in Mexico now, 700 still in hospital, 150 deceased. There are confirmed cases in Spain and Scotland, and closer to home suspected cases in Belgium, Sweden, Norway & Denmark. To make matters even worse, there was an earthquake in Mexico City today, although there is no reports of damages.
Although Mexicans are now starting to sound worried, some still cope by joking. Some people commented that the earthquake was basically another way of sneezing, and the influenza song now has a video. People are still staying home, following the instructions of the government, and the school shutdown has been expanded nationwide. If you speak Spanish, the Mexican Presidency has live video coverage of the situation here.
Welcome to Copenhagen
Does anybody else but me think that this looks more like something that you would find in a seedy bar rather than a Nordic airport?
Denmark is Flat
Was in Denmark & northern Germany this week for a couple of days. It was really interesting that after crossing the border the landscape did change, with more spruce and birch trees on the Danish side. Definitely did look more “nordic” than Germany, which of course should be the case.
And the language, to which I had been exposed before, is seriously incomprehensible. Written is quite OK, but I really don’t know what they do with their mouths. And they know it ;-).
