Yes, it’s ugly, icky, and grandstanding, but it’s also a worthwhile addition to the “Alien” universe with strong references to panspermia and Von Daniken.
Don’t watch it if you don’t have a strong stomach, please.

Recommended book: The Singularity is Near
I’ve written about the Singularity before. Ray Kurzweil is obsessed by it. The books he’s written and the talks he’s given (below) make him sound logical. I only know that what’s possible now was science fiction or even unimaginable a couple of decades back.
