Nokia Online Share 3.0

I have been too busy to tell you guys about this application, now available in Beta labs.  Basically, the support for posting to Vox and Flickr just got much better, with better tagging and the possibility to follow the photostreams of others straight from your mobile device.  Darla Mack has a good review of the app.

Please give us your feedback (here or, faster, at Tommi's blog).

Globalised table

Had a business lunch yesterday here in Tokyo.  During the conversation, I realised that over half of the people at the table were living in a different country where they were born: Irish, Finnish, Peruvians in Japan, Germans in China, Mexicans in Finland, etc…  Those who were not living "abroad" at the moment definitely had extensive international experience.

Certainly interesting, especially since for us it was completely normal.

In Madrid

Puerta del Sol

I spent a couple of days in Madrid for business reasons, and as usual enjoyed it thoroughly.

Madrileños, unlike citizens of other capitals, like to stay up late, and it really shows. Furthermore, I was surprised by the level of stress of some of the people there.

Regardless, it is one of my favourite cities in Europe. Feels like Mexico, but the people are somewhat whiter and speak funny 😉 .

Windows Live for Nokia

According to Microsoft, there is about 240 million users of MSN messenger in the world.  I believe that a few of them might be interested in knowing that there is now a version of Windows live (including Messenger, Hotmail, Live Spaces and Search) available for use in Nokia devices.

For more information go to www.nokia.com/windowslive, but it is currently available for owners of Nokia N73, N76, N80 internet edition, N93i and N95 in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, UAE and UK, with more to follow.

Needless to say, we would love to hear your comments about the service.

The kid that knew about mobiles

In Prague, while enjoying the they at a restaurant in the middle of the city, I couldn't help but eavesdrop in another table's conversation. The reason for my behaviour was a 15 year old kid that, after seeing my N95, started to talk about the state of the mobile industry in his country. I was amazed not only by his level of interest, but also by his expertise on the subject. In fact, he knew much more about the situation in his local market and was visibly a Nokia fan.

After seeing his enthusiasm I just had to ask him what his age was. After he did so, I commented that if he would like to work in our industry he should probably study a couple of subjects. It was nice meeting a fan of what you do for a living.

Bad day at the office

A bad day at work means different things for different people:

  • For a policeman it might mean a robbery, a stabbing or a rape.
  • For a civil engineer it might mean a fallen bridge.
  • For a stockbroker it could be millions of dollars lost.
  • For a doctor it could involve dead or somehow maimed patients.

Therefore, I'm glad that my bad days at work might include many problems, but nothing on that scale.
